Platform Terms of Use

Effective: 25th March 2026

These Terms govern your use of the JJS platform software. They are separate from the terms of the riding centre you are booking with, which apply independently.

1. Who We Are

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Jack Joynson Software Limited ("JJS", "we", "us", "our"), a company incorporated in England and Wales (company number 12530292).

Contact: support@jack.joynson.software

The platform you are using is Croft Farm Riding Centre Booking System, operated on behalf of Croft Farm Riding Centre (the "Centre"). By using this platform you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. About This Platform

JJS provides the software platform that the Centre uses to manage bookings, lessons, and communications. JJS is a technology provider only. The Centre operates as an independent business and is solely responsible for the equestrian activities, services, and bookings facilitated through this platform.

Your contract for any booking or equestrian service is with the Centre, not with JJS. Any disputes relating to bookings, cancellations, refunds, or the services provided must be directed to the Centre.

The Centre's own terms and conditions apply separately to your use of their services. By making a booking through this platform, you confirm that you have read and agree to the Centre's terms. Please contact the Centre if you have not received or cannot locate their terms.

3. Your Account

To use this platform you must register for an account using a valid email address and a password, or via a supported third-party authentication service.

  • You must provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date registration information.
  • You must not register using a name or email address you are not entitled to use, or impersonate any other person.
  • You must not transfer your account to anyone else without our prior written permission.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity carried out under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.
  • You must be 16 or over to create and manage an account. Accounts for riders aged under 16 must be created and managed by a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on the child's behalf and is responsible for all activity on that account.

We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, or if the Centre instructs us to do so. Providing false, inaccurate, or misleading registration information is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination. You will be responsible for any losses or consequences arising from information you provided that was incorrect.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the platform in any way that:

  • Violates any applicable law or regulation.
  • Is harmful, fraudulent, deceptive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, or obscene.
  • Infringes the intellectual property or other rights of any person or organisation.
  • Endangers the security of your account or any other user's account.
  • Attempts to obtain the credentials or account details of any other user.
  • Compromises the security of any computer network or attempts to circumvent access controls.
  • Involves automated access to the platform, scraping, or extracting significant amounts of data.
  • Attempts to decompile, reverse engineer, or derive the source code of the platform.
  • Places an unreasonable load on the platform's infrastructure or interferes with its proper operation.
  • Is carried out by or on behalf of a business that competes, or intends to compete, with JJS — including using the platform to benchmark features, pricing, or functionality, or to develop or assist in developing a competing product or service.

Breach of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account. You agree to indemnify and hold JJS harmless from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal costs) brought by a third party arising out of or relating to your misuse of the platform or your breach of these Terms. JJS reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from you in the event of a breach that causes us loss, including but not limited to losses caused by automated misuse, security attacks, or unauthorised data extraction.

5. Intellectual Property

The platform, including its design, code, and content created by JJS, is owned by or licensed to JJS and is protected by intellectual property laws. You must not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without our prior written consent.

Your own data (your personal details, booking history, etc.) remains yours. You grant JJS a limited licence to process and store your data solely for the purpose of operating the platform and providing the service to you and the Centre. This licence ends when your account is closed and your data is deleted, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

6. Bookings and Payments

Bookings made through this platform are a contract between you and the Centre. JJS facilitates the booking process as a technology service and is not a party to that contract.

Payment terms, cancellation policies, and refund entitlements are set by the Centre. Please refer to the Centre directly for those details.

Payments are processed on the Centre's behalf using third-party payment processors (Stripe and/or GoCardless). Payment card details are handled directly by those processors and are never stored by JJS.

A booking confirmation issued by this platform confirms that your booking request has been recorded and transmitted to the Centre. It does not guarantee that the Centre will fulfil the service. JJS accepts no liability where a Centre cancels, modifies, or fails to deliver a booked service.

7. Service Availability

JJS will use reasonable efforts to keep the platform available but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to suspend or modify the platform for maintenance, security, or development reasons and will try to give advance notice of planned downtime where practicable.

JJS reserves the right to modify or discontinue features of the platform at any time. Where a material change would adversely affect you, we will provide reasonable notice.

The platform depends in part on third-party services including Google Firebase, Stripe, GoCardless, and Amazon Web Services. JJS is not liable for any unavailability, errors, or data loss caused by failures of those services that are outside our reasonable control.

8. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence;
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
  • Any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015).

Subject to the above, JJS's total liability to you in connection with these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed the greater of £100 or the total amounts (if any) paid by you directly to JJS in the 12 months preceding the claim.

JJS is not liable for any losses arising from bookings, equestrian activities, or services provided by the Centre — those matters are between you and the Centre.

JJS is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity, except where such losses result from our fraud or wilful misconduct.

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". JJS makes no warranty, express or implied, that the platform will be fit for any particular purpose beyond its described functionality, or that it will be free from errors or interruptions.

JJS is not liable for any loss or damage arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading data entered by you, by the Centre, or by any other user of the platform. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of information you submit.

JJS is not liable for any failure to perform its obligations under these Terms where such failure results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, third-party service outages, cyberattacks, or changes in law.

JJS is not liable for any losses or harm arising from unauthorised access to your account where that access resulted from your failure to keep your credentials secure, your sharing of your password, or your failure to notify us promptly of a suspected breach.

9. Children

Accounts must be created and managed by someone aged 16 or over. Riders aged under 16 must have an account created and managed by a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on the child's behalf and is responsible for all activity on that account.

If you believe a child under 16 has registered independently, please contact us at support@jack.joynson.software and we will remove the account promptly.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email to your registered address and/or by a notice on the platform. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the platform. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
